Serious Movie

While discussing Coincidence and Synchronicity, we decided to shoot a documentary to show how we made 2 films in 24 hours. As we talked about the idea, we thought it would be more fun to make a fake doc about two rival teams shooting different films at the same location, Serious Movie was the result.

As Waking Dream was already busy making 2 films, we brought in our friend and fellow film maker Richard Leverton to shoot and edit Serious Movie. We agreed on the basic scenario and everything else was improved on the day whenever we had spare time.

Serious Movie was the last of the 3 films to screen and once again there was an audible recognition in the audience. It won second place in the competition and when put together with Coincidence and Synchronicty, forms an interesting and quirky trilogy of films and shows what really can be achieved in 24 hours.
